There was great excitement for Eric McGuire of McGuire Diamonds when he found out his business of 18 years had won two major awards. McGuire Diamonds, situated on Esmonde Street, Gorey, for the first time won Best Jeweller in Ireland from Weddings Online Awards and Irish Wedding Awards. 

Eric founded McGuire Diamonds in 2000 when he was just 24-years of age. He simply began by creating bespoke pieces of silver and gold for his clients, but demand was high for his style and keen eye for detail that he quickly progressed to designing luxury diamond jewellery. 

'I was so surprised we won as we were up against businesses that have such a high profile, such as Boodles Jewellery and Appleby Jewellers' 

Over the years, Eric has established an exceptionally loyal custom base and his clients trust his advice and his ability to deliver exquisite pieces. 'We provide high end quality pieces of jewellery for an affordable price,' said Eric. 'My competitors would be the likes of businesses in London, New York and Dubai.' 

McGuire Diamonds recently set up an online website, and Eric feels this is how he got nominated for the awards. 'I got a phone call to say we were in the final for Irish Wedding Awards and an email about Weddings Online award,'  said Eric.
